GMAT Preparation Links

The links below are helpful for GMAT preparation. There are lots of practice exercises and preparation tips. When preparing for tests everybody wishes that all the useful materials be available in one place. This is what I am trying to achieve. Not all the materials at one place but link to those materials at one place.

Preparing Application -SOP, Recommendations and Resume

Many of us give a lot of effort to standardized test preparation. But once it is done we just relax a bit and don't put enough effort in application materials preparation. This often leads to rejection from universities. So preparation of application materials deserves effort similar in magnitude to that of test preparation. But it has become a habit today that we find it very difficult to start on our own until and unless someone shows us the way. So here I am giving some of the links that might show you the way. But mind you don't over state things and divert it from reality. Just try to be original in an impressive way.

Here are the links:-

Out of all these, if I am asked to recommend one, I will go with the first one. It's so useful and nice. There's the explanation for the every step from starting the application to the things to do in decision waiting period. Amazing that there are good people in this world who love to share their ideas and experience.

GMAT Tips

GMAT appears to be tougher than GRE. But if you practice a lot you will be able to improve your scores dramatically. Here are few tips for improving your score:-

1. Register early so that you have enough time for preparation. Rather than having a month off before the exam for preparation, it's wise to allocate some hours for preparation daily for 4 or 5 months.

2. Practice as much as you can.

3. While practicing note down your strengths and weaknesses.

4. Focus on you weaknesses and try to improve it.

5. While practicing keep in mind about your pace. If you can't maintain your pace you might have trouble during exams.

6. If you don't know the right answer don't just randomly guess it. First try to eliminate the choices that you know are certainly not the answer. This will increase the probability of getting the question right.

So the important thing is to get the basics right to the beat the test. I have seen capable guys under perform in CAT tests simply because they are unaware of the basics of the test. So together with the preparation , it's equally important that you understand the test well.
